'Call second game off': Alexandra Hartley

Taking to micro-blogging site, Alexandra Hartley wrote that she was absolutely heartbroken for England Cricket girls after y were eliminated from competition due to wear. 2017 World Cup-winner n added that it is only fair to call off second semi-final between defending champions Australia and South Africa as well. She n tagged Cricket Australia as well. reason behind this is that even  contest will be held at same venue and should re be a washout, n it is South Africa who will be going through to finals. This is because Proteas had won ir first three matches while ir final group game against West Indies was washed out due to rain.

Australia, on or hand, had lost ir opening match against India due to which ir last group match against New Zealand turned out to be a virtual quarterfinal. Meanwhile, ar cause of concern for defending champions is that ir star all-rounder Ellyse Perry has been ruled out of tournament due to a hamstring injury that she had sustained while fielding against New Zealand on Monday. Perry was seen limping off field.

Hartley was t a part of English squad who had participated in ongoing tournament.

turning point in England's campaign

England had lost ir opening match against South Africa and even though y won ir remaining three group games, that narrow loss against Proteas sealed ir fate and eventually halted ir progress in tournament.

This had happened on third ball of game's final over. Karine Brunt came charging into bowl and during her run-up, Sune Luus, who was at n-striker's end walked a long way out of her crease. This had come to bowler's tice during her run-up after which she stopped and went near stumps. Surprisingly, she did t dislodge bails and instead gave a warning to batter. However, her act of kindness backfired as Mign du Preez who was batter at striker's ended up hitting six and it sealed match in Proteas' favour with just 1 requiring off three balls. Preez completed formalities as South Africa registered a six-wicket win.

Had Brunt ran out Luus n scenario could have been completely different as South Africa would have felt pressure of losing an extra wicket at a crucial juncture.
