Mumbai Indians youngster Tilak Varma had a stupendous T20I debut for India and he also had the perfect answer for West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph.

Tilak Varma's stupendous innings might not have helped India win the IND vs WI 1st T20I but the player announced his arrival in grand style. The Mumbai Indians batter started from where he left off in the IPL as he hit a brilliant 22-ball 39 during his short stayed at the crease. The youngster spared no one and particularly was merciless on Alzarri Joseph.

IND vs WI: Tilak Varma had a perfect answer to Alzarri Joseph's stare

He didn't take much time and launched an onslaught from his first ball against the fast bowler who seemed to be shell shocked by the debutant's efforts. Varma hammered Joseph for a six on the leg side and the bowler stared at him for a few seconds. In the next ball, the youngster launched a six in almost similar fashion and the pursuit didn't end here as he ended the over with a brilliant four.

Tilak couldn't rescue his team as India lost the match by a mere four runs. Relying on Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran's innings, West Indies first posted a competitive 149 on the board. The visitors lost Shubman GIll and Ishan Kishan very early and wickets started falling at regular intervals as they fall short by four runs at the end.

Having retained the Test series and ODI series earlier the expectation was high but the Men in Blue failed to take up the advantage. India will play four more T20is with the Windies side and would be hoping to rectify their mistakes in this series.
