Indian cricketing fraternity condoled the untimely demise of former Finance Minister and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley. Jaitley was an ex-BCCI vice-president.

Indian cricketing fraternity condoled the untimely demise of former Finance Minister and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley. The former Union Minister passed away on Saturday, 24 August in Delhi. Arun Jaitley's demise marks the end of an extraordinary career that has witnessed him holding incredibly important positions at various levels, both in the government and outside. Condolence wishes poured in for Jaitley from all corners. Many former cricketers took to social media to condole the loss of the ex BCCI vice-president and the former DDCA chief.
Cricketing fraternity pays tribute to Arun Jaitley
Arun Jaitley was not only a great politician but was also an able cricket administrator. The former Finance Minister was also the president of the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) and also served as the vice-president of the BCCI. Cricketers from Delhi remembered Arun Jaitley for his contributions to the DDCA and for providing them with the opportunity to play for the national side. Arun Jaitley is widely regarded for 'cleaning up' the corrupt DDCA as he took over the reins and revamping the association.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli recalled Arun Jaitley's gesture in 2006 when the former Finance Minister visited Virat Kohli's residence to pay condolences to the skipper's late father. Kohli expressed shock and sadness over the demise of Arun Jaitley.
Indian opener and Delhi batsman Shikhar Dhawan condoled the demise of the former Finance Minister.
Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed grief at Arun Jaitley's passing away and offered his condolences to the former Union Minister's family.
Indian commentator and analyst Harsha Bhogle fondly recalled Arun Jaitley as a cricket lover apart from the other feathers on the former Union Minister's cap.
Men in Blue to pay tributes to Arun Jaitley
The Indian cricket team will wear black armbands in its Test match against West Indies in order to pay tribute to and condole the unfortunate demise of former Union Minister Arun Jaitley. Former cricketers and members of the fraternity flocked to condole the death of the senior BJP leader, as many cricketers from Delhi remembered the contributions of Arun Jaitley to the DDCA and in helping the players find a place in the national team. Former cricketers Gautam Gambhir, Aakash Chopra, Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to condole Arun Jaitley's death. The BCCI condoled the demise of its ex vice-president and prayed for the departed soul.
