Asia Cup 2023: Mohammed Siraj delivered a devastating blow to Sri Lanka within the opening six overs of the match, securing a remarkable five-wicket haul during this period. Sri Lanka's innings crumbled, and they were bowled out for just 50 runs, marking their second-lowest ODI score ever. • India secured its eighth Asia Cup title, maintaining its record as the most successful team in the tournament's history.
• Mohammed Siraj's remarkable performance resulted in him equalling the record for the fastest ODI five-wicket haul, sharing this distinction with Chaminda Vaas (achieved against Bangladesh in 2003).
• Siraj also became the second-fastest bowler to reach 50 ODI wickets, doing so in 1002 balls, with only Sri Lanka's Ajantha Mendis ahead of him.
• Siraj joined the exclusive club of Indian bowlers with ODI six-wicket hauls, becoming the 11th member.
• Siraj's exceptional figures of 6 for 21 rank as the fourth-best bowling performance by an Indian and the 31st best overall in ODI cricket.
• Siraj's exceptional feat of taking four wickets in a single over in ODIs also set him apart as the first Indian bowler and the fourth globally to achieve this milestone.
• Sri Lanka's batting woes saw them posting their lowest-ever total in Asia Cup ODIs, getting bundled out for a mere 50 runs in just 15.2 overs.
• 50 all-out also ranked as Sri Lanka's second-lowest ODI total and the 10th lowest in ODI cricket history.

• Rohit Sharma earned his place in history by becoming the third Indian captain to secure two ODI Asia Cup titles, sharing this achievement with MS Dhoni and Mohammed Azharuddin.

Team India's road to Asia Cup 2023 win 

The Indian cricket team faced a lot of challenges throughout their campaign in the Asia Cup 2023. After the Indian team's top order was destroyed by the Pakistani pace attack, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya rescued Team India and took them to a fighting total. However, the match was later abandoned due to rain. The Men in Blue faced Nepal in their second match of the 2023 Asia Cup and won the match by 10 wickets single-handedly.

From here the Indian team never looked back and defeated Pakistan by 228 runs in their first Super 4s clash. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored centuries in the match whereas wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav picked up a fifer. The Indian team crushed Sri Lanka by 41 runs in their next match, however, they also received a close loss against Bangladesh by 5 runs in their last Super 4s clash.
