Sri Lanka's innings crumbled, and they were bowled out for just 50 runs, marking their second-lowest ODI score ever. India's response saw Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill at the opening, and they wasted no time, accumulating 32 runs in just three overs. With determination and composure, they continued their pursuit, ultimately achieving victory in the seventh over with all wickets intact.

Team India's road to Asia Cup 2023 win
The Indian cricket team faced a lot of challenges throughout their campaign in the Asia Cup 2023. After the Indian team's top order was destroyed by the Pakistani pace attack, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya rescued Team India and took them to a fighting total. However, the match was later abandoned due to rain. The Men in Blue faced Nepal in their second match of the 2023 Asia Cup and won the match by 10 wickets single-handedly.
From here the Indian team never looked back and defeated Pakistan by 228 runs in their first Super 4s clash. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored centuries in the match whereas wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav picked up a fifer. The Indian team crushed Sri Lanka by 41 runs in their next match, however, they also received a close loss against Bangladesh by 5 runs in their last Super 4s clash.
