India clashed with Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday. India's pacers displayed incredible form, wreaking havoc on Sri Lanka's batting order. The defending champions were utterly dismantled, managing to score only 50 runs, marking their lowest-ever total against India, with five Sri Lankan batters failing to open their accounts. Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the bowlers for India as he picked up 6 for 21 in seven overs.

India cruised to a resounding 10-wicket victory over Sri Lanka, securing their eighth Asia Cup title, ending a five-year drought. The match at Premadasa will be eternally etched in memory for Siraj's masterful dismantling of the Sri Lankan top-order, rendering them helpless against his extraordinary skills.

Rohit Sharma-led Team India defend their ODI Asia Cup title

Notably, this triumph held special significance for India, as it marked their first victory in a multi-nation event since their Asia Cup 2018 conquest. This remarkable win also marked India's most dominant ODI triumph in terms of balls remaining, with 263 balls to spare.

Ahead of their participation in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, India is set to engage in a three-match ODI series against Australia. The highly anticipated ODI World Cup is scheduled to take place in India from October 5 to November 19. India's opening match in this tournament is slated against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
