After Mohammed Siraj picked up a five-wicket haul in just 16 deliveries, Delhi Police took to its official social media handle to pay respect to the pacer. Delhi Police shared a savage post to celebrate Siraj's performance in the Asia Cup final. "No speed challans for #Siraj today," Delhi Police wrote in the caption of the post. This is the fastest five-wicket haul for any bowler in ODI cricket.
Notably, Siraj became just the fourth bowler in ODI history to claim four wickets in a single over, matching the record set by former Lankan pacer Chaminda Vaas as the quickest to achieve a five-wicket haul in one-dayers, doing so in only 16 deliveries. He also surpassed the previous best ODI figures against Sri Lanka, held by Pakistan's pace legend Waqar Younis, who had recorded figures of 6 for 26 at Sharjah in 1990.
