Asia Cup: PCB to wait for BCCI's confirmation till June 2020

Asia Cup will be hosted by Pakistan next year. Meanwhile, PCB has said that it will wait for BCCI's confirmation till June next year to confirm participation

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set a June 2020, deline for Indian Cricket Board to confirm its participation in Asia Cup scheduled in September, next year. However, it was reported that decision to shift tournament will be Asian Cricket Council's prerogative. Wasim Khan, who ackwledged practical problems in having any bilateral cricketing ties with India in prevailing strenuous relationship between two neighbours.

"We need to see if India agrees to come to Pakistan for Asia Cup. re is still some time till next year's September but by June, we have to kw where we are going with this and if it can't be hosted here because of a lack of involvement of India," PCB CEO Wasim Khan said in an interview.

"Board to board level, we share a good relation with India but y have a lot of government interference and we can't keep on running after m to play a bilateral series. If y want to play y will have to tell us and give us a firm commitment. We have issues playing at a neutral venue," Khan said.

Pakistan opener, whose place in side has always been under scanner for allegedly being a product of nepotism, found himself in trouble when a few women posted screenshots of his objectionable WhatsApp conversations with m and accused him of misleing m. Wasim said board h viewed matter seriously and spoken to Imam about it. "We don't like to comment on personal affairs of a player but we expect that our centrally contracted players will also show more responsibility being ambassors of Pakistan cricket and Pakistan. Hopefully, we will t see such incidents again."
