Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh on Monday, November 4, addressed the media and commented on the ongoing speculation about Mahendra Singh Dhoni's retirement. The lack of updates and the unavailability of Dhoni made speculations run wild on social media platforms.  However, it was reported that Dhoni is unavailable till November end. When asked about the conjecture on MS Dhoni's future, Yuvraj said:

"I don't know boss. You should ask your great selectors when you meet them. That's their call, not mine"

Need for better selectors

Yuvraj, who retired from international cricket not so long ago also apprised that there is a dire need for better selectors, who will be able to back its players in the longer run. The MSK Prasad-led selection committee has often been criticised for their outlook towards the sports. Yuvraj Singh opined about the same and said that the Indian team needs better selectors and their thinking is not as per the required standard.

"We do need better selectors, for sure. Selectors' job is not easy. Whenever they select 15 players, there will be talks that what will happen to the other 15. It's a difficult job but their thinking in terms of modern-day cricket is not up to the mark. It's my opinion. I am always in favor of protecting the players and being positive about them. By talking negative about your players and team doesn't show you in a true light. The character only shows when things are going wrong and you motivate the players. In bad times, everyone talks bad. We definitely need better selectors", he added.
