Aus vs NZ: New Zealand coach Gary Stead was determined on looking at the silver lining after their defeat by the hands of Australia in the first Test at Perth.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead is determined on looking at positives after losing to Australia in first Test at Perth by 296 runs. Stead said that dismissing batting great Steve Smith early in both innings of match was one such positive. Australia secured a victory without any major contribution from Smith, which may be encouraging for hosts but New Zealand had satisfaction of successfully executing ir plan of using short ball against Smith.
