Australia Assistant Coach Daniel Vettori To Leave Perth Test Midway For IPL Mega Auction

Midway through the first Test match against India, Australia's assistant coach Daniel Vettori will be taking a leave of absence to attend the IPL mega auction this weekend. The IPL auction is scheduled for November 24–25 in the city of Jed Saudi Arabia.

Australia's assistant coach Daniel Vettori will be leaving his duties mid-way through opening Test against India here to attend IPL mega auction over weekend.

IPL auction will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24-25, clashing with Perth Test scheduled from November 22.

Besides being Australia's assistant coach, 45-year-old is also he coach of IPL franchise SunRisers Hyderab (SRH). "We are very supportive of Dan's role as He Coach of Sunrisers Hyderab.

"Dan will complete final preparation for first Test before attending IPL auction. He will n be with team for remainder of Border Gavaskar Trophy," spokesperson of Australian team told ESPNcricinfo.

Cricket Australia's (CA) national development coach Lachlan Stevens will be filling in for Vettori during Perth Test.

Besides New Zealander, Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer will also be missing out on commentary duties for Channel Seven due to IPL auction, as y happen to be he coaches of Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, respectively.
