Adam Gilchrist Admires Rishabh Pant ’s Approach as He Shines on Red-Ball Comeback Against Bangladesh
During an appearance on Cricket.com, Adam Gilchrist heaped praise upon India's Rishabh Pant as he plays against Bangladesh in his comeback Test match. Gilchrist applauded his ability to attack more than he did during his time. He also deemed Pant a 'class act' for his ability to withstand the pressure after Team India's top-order fell.
"I reckon he attacks a bit more than I did. I played an aggressive brand at that time, but Rishabh, he looks fearless. What I do like is that he occasionally puts a foot on the brake and absorbs a bit of pressure. So he's a class act.
"He is, what you say, bums on seats and people pay money well and truly. I would happily pay money to watch him play cricket. So that's a great quality to have, I think, if people are acknowledging in that manner because he gets the results, he's a winner and a survivor, as we know. He's all class in everything he does. He's good fun, he's got the humour. He knows how to go about a very serious business in a fun way,” Adam Gilchrist said.

Speaking of the match, Team India dominated on Day 1 despite Bangladesh dismissing their top order. Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin led the charge in batting and amassed huge totals, so it was an all-rounder frenzy. The Men in Blue also demonstrated their supremacy in bowling, as their skill destroyed the Bangla Tigers' whole lineup.
In the second innings, Team India came back to bat and have already lost their top order. But Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill are currently on strike, India still leads by 300+ runs. At Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, Day 3 action has started, and the Men in Blue will aim to extend their lead in the first test match.
