Australia vs Pakistan: Pat Cummins returns as captain for first time since winning ODI World Cup

World Cup-winning skipper Pat Cummins is set to lead Australia's ODI team for the first time since their 2023 Cricket World Cup victory against India. Cummins will captain the team for the upcoming three-game home ODI series against Pakistan , which is scheduled to begin on November 4.
The team's pace attack will be led by Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood, all of whom have been named in the squad. Batters Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne will also be part of the team. Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa, and wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis, who are regulars in the white-ball squad, have also been named. Marcus Stoinis will make a return to the ODI squad after being left out of the format for the matches against England.

After the ODI contest, Australia and Pakistan will play a three-match T20I series from November 14 to 18. The squad for the T20I series is yet to be announced by Cricket Australia. Following the Pakistan assignment, Australia will host India for a five-match Test series, called the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Pat Cummins will captain the team in that series too. The matches will be part of the current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
