Australian bowler escapes horrific injury scare in Marsh Cup 2019

During the ongoing Marsh-Cup, 2019 on Tuesday, South Australian pacer Wes Agar escaped a horrific injury scare during his match against Queensland at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane. In the very first over of the Queensland innings when Agar was handed the ball to open the bowling for South Australia, this incident took place. Fortunately, there was no serious tear that took place on the field. The video of the incident was shared by Cricket Australia on their Twitter account.
In the viral video doing rounds on social media, the right-arm pacer slipped while bowling the second delivery after he was seen sliding while landing awkwardly on the wrong foot. However, he managed to escape what could have been a nasty injury. The umpire and the batsmen on the non-striking end were seen asking Agar whether he is alright or not. After falling down Agar got up again and continued to bowl.

He bowled six overs in the game and finished with figures of 0/39. Queensland won the game by comfortably beating South Australia by seven wickets.

The Marsh One-Day Cup 2019 is the 51st season of the official 'List A' domestic cricket competition in Australia. The tournament will see matches played in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast and Hobart. The tournament has already kicked off on September 21 and the teams are tussling out to be on the top in the points table. Queensland is leading the table with 8 points in 2 matches. South Australia is currently at the bottom of the table after facing defeat against the tournament toppers in their opening match. The final is going to take place on 26th November 2019.
