Azharuddin to represent Hyderabad at BCCI's AGM in Mumbai on Oct 23
The former Indian captain, Mohammad Azharuddin will be representing Hyderabad at the Cricket Board's (BCCI) Annual General Meeting in Mumbai on October 23.

The former Indian captain, Mohammad Azharuddin will be representing Hyderabad at the Annual General Meeting of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Mumbai on October 23. According to reports, the new apex body has decided that Azharuddin will be it's representative-cum-voter in case the BCCI elections take place. Azharuddin was recently appointed as the President of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). According to reports, there were talks of the former state unit president Shivlal Yadav to represent Hyderabad. Further, Azharuddin and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly will be the two former national captains representing their respective state units.
Azharuddin appointed as President of HCA
The former Indian captain, Mohammad Azharuddin was elected as the President of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) on September 27. According to reports, out of the 227 members, 223 had cast their votes. The former India captain secured 147 votes while Prakash Chand Jain polled only 73. It was reported that even though there were three candidates for the president's post, the main competition was between Azharuddin and Jain. Azharuddin, who appeared in 99 Tests and 334 ODIs, had filed his nomination for the president's post in the HCA. As the former Indian Captain's win was announced, his fans celebrated at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal. Taking it to Twitter, Azharuddin also posted about his win.

About Azharuddin
Mohammad Azharuddin has played 99 Tests and scored a hundred in his first and last Test matches. He has also held the record for the fastest hundred, maximum runs and most catches in the ODIs. Azharuddin started off his international career with a bang when he scored a century on his Test debut against England in 1984, three years after he had made his first-class debut in Hyderabad.
