BCA AGM: Ombudsman appointed, nod sought for IPL-type tourney
The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) president has said that have sought permission from the BCCI for holding IPL like tournament and appointed an ombudsman

Baroda Cricket Association held its annual general meeting (AGM) on Sunday and appointed an ombudsman. It is reliably understood that Justice (Retd) C J Thakkar will be ombudsman for association.

BCA president Pranav Amin told PTI, "We have sought permission from BCCI for holding IPL like tournament and appointed an ombudsman for sorting out problems related to cricket."

After BCA passes its accounts for 2014-15, it is eligible to get Rs 40 crore grant from BCCI, a senior BCA official said, ding AGM was held "peacefully".He said cricket body would soon hold remaining AGMs as grants worth Rs 135 crore are pending from BCCI. Board h released Rs 17 crore grant to BCA for 2013-14. Meanwhile, former BCA president Samarjeetsinh Gaekwextended his support to newly elected body."In interest of game, I've decided to support newly-elected BCA manment. We will support activities including construction of a cricket stium at Kotambi and ors related to development of game," Gaekw told PTI.

Amin said he h met Gaekw personally on Saturday and sought his support. 'Royal group' heed by Gaekw and 'Revival group' led by Amin h contested BCA polls where a majority of posts were won by latter. posts of secretary and joint secretary were won by candidates belonging to Gaekw group. Ajit Lele is a BCA secretary.
