BCCI confirms Indian cricket team having whopping 12 million Instagram followers

The official Instagram account of Indian cricket team has gained 12 million followers. BCCI confirmed the whopping achievement by posting a 'thankful' message.

Indian cricket team is one of most followed cricket teams in world. Due to ir large fan base in country and abroad, India also has largest following on social media as well. Quite recently, official Instagram account of Indian cricket team completed 12 million followers. To celebrate occasion, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted an im on account in which y thanked ir followers for ir love and support.

BCCI thanks fans after completing 12 million Instagram followers

In ir post, BCCI also added a caption confirming whopping achievement. Surprisingly, official account of Indian cricket team has even more followers than official account of International Cricket Council (ICC). ICC currently stands at 10.8 million followers, i.e. 1.2 million lesser than India alone.

Star Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also enjoy a superior follower-count on Instagram. Sharma alone has 11.6 followers on photo-sharing platform. On or hand, Kohli enjoys a staggering 47.1 million follower-count on same.

Meanwhile, India are w facing Sri Lanka in ongoing home T20I series. series is also first international assignment of both teams in 2020. first T20I of three-match series was a rain-induced -result in Guwahati on January 5. Virat Kohli and co. will w return for second T20I on January 7 at Holkar Stadium in Indore. series-concluding third game is scheduled to be held on January 10 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
