The arrival of Gautam Gambhir as the coach of the Indian National Cricket Team is expected to bring significant changes to the Men in Blue. With his arrival, a new set of coaching staff is also set to begin their tenure, opening a wide array of possibilities on who could be the coaches for the various nuances, including batting, fielding, and bowling. Since Dravid's tenure has ended, Paras Mhambrey and T Dilip will also take an exit from the team, with a new staff succeeding them. Gambhir has had some pretty solid choices to reinforce the Men in Blue. However, his preferred choice has been rejected by the BCCI. But why did the board not accept GG's plea?

The BCCI rejected Gautam Gambhir's coaching staff plea for just ONE BIG reason!
Several reports have suggested that when Gautam Gambhir took the helm, he put up his choices for the fielding and batting coach. As per reports, he put Vinay Kumar's name forward for the bowling coach and Jonty Rhodes' name as the bowling and fielding coach for the side. However, the Board did not go forward with the idea. The Board wasn't willing to go on with Vinay as they are looking for Zaheer Khan or L Balaji as potential recruits. But why would the BCCI reject a credible man like Jonty Rhodes, someone who made a name out of his immaculate fielding skills? Turns out, the Board has its own reasons to do so.
The BCCI reportedly wants to keep an all-indigenous support staff and is not keen on appointing a foreign coach. They have been doing it for quite a time, they do not intend to change that regime. They do not have doubts over Jonty Rhodes' credibility as one of the greatest fielders to exist in the game. Jonty's name was in discussion, but the team chose to keep a domestic staff for the Men's National Cricket Team.
