BCCI invites application for Election of office bearers posts

BCCI Electoral Officer N Gopalaswami on Friday invited Representatives on the Final Electoral Roll to file nomination applications for candidature for the seven important posts in the BCCI Election to be held in Mumbai on October 23

• The seven posts include: 
• President, Vice-President,
• Secretary, Joint Secretary
• Treasurer, Councillor (one representative to be elected by BCCI Members) and Governing Council Member (two members to be elected by the General Body).

'Nominations must be filed in accordance with the Rules of Procedure'

Its mentions in the paper: "Nominations must be filed in accordance with the Rules of Procedure issued by the Electoral Officer on 16 August 2019, with the exception that the revised Nomination Form as attached to this Call to File Nomination Applications shall be used for the purpose of filing nominations."The revised Nomination Form is being issued while recognising that greater flexibility was required with respect to proposers and seconders who might be located in cities other than the candidate."

It further says: "Those wishing to file nomination applications may take note of the following:

• (a) A prospective candidate must be on the Final Electoral Roll and can file a nomination application only for one post.
• (b) A candidate must fill-up the attached Nomination cum Affidavit form duly signed by him, witnessed by a fellow member of the same Full Member, and with the candidate’s signature attested by a notary/oath commissioner. The Nomination-Cum-Affidavit need not be on stamp paper unless required by local law.
• (c) A candidate’s nomination application should have been signed by a proposer and seconder, who shall each be on the Final Electoral Roll. The forms of the proposer and seconder may be attested by a notary/oath commissioner at a location different from the Nomination-cum￾Affidavit form. The proposer and/or seconder must not be a competitor for the same post.
• (d) No person may be a proposer or a seconder to more than one candidate in respect of the same post.
• (e) A candidate may then personally come to the BCCI office and file his nomination papers or his nomination form duly signed by him can be deposited by an authorized person whose name and address is duly verified and authorized by the candidate himself during the Window to File Nomination Applications.
