The BCCI on Thursday put out a timeline of Prithvi Shaw's doping violation case, which showed a gap of more than two months between his sample collection and the final report from National Dope Testing Laboratory.

In what appeared to be an attempt at dam control after attracting criticism for manner in which BCCI handled 19-year-old India opener's case, including allowing him to play in IPL, Mumbai T20 league and train at National Cricket Acemy (NCA), timeline showed re was a reminder from Board to NDTL.

WA might reopen case
World Anti-Doping ncy (WA) might also reopen case handled by a body that is reluctant to come under purview of National Anti-Doping ncy (NA).
Last month, Shaw was banned from all forms of cricket by BCCI for a period of eight months after failing a dope test. A BCCI release h stated that Shaw h "invertently ingested a prohibited substance, which can be commonly found in cough syrups".

Shaw's suspension is retrospective in nature, starting from March 16 and ending on vember 15, ruling him out of India's home series against South Africa and Banglesh.
Shaw h provided a urine sample as part of BCCI's anti-doping testing programme during Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on February 22, 2019, in Indore. His sample was subsequently tested and found to contain terbutaline.

"Terbutaline, a specified substance, is prohibited both In and Out of Competition in WA Prohibited List of Substances," BCCI release h stated.
Prithvi Shaw 'accepts fate'
Shaken by outcome, Shaw mitted that youngsters need to be more cautious while consuming over--counter medicines.

"I accept my fate with all sincerity. While I am still nursing an injury which I suffered during my last tournament, this news has really shaken me," Shaw h said in a statement.
Terbutaline is generally used to treat problems related to breathing and can be consumed if athlete in question avails a rapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) certificate in vance, which Shaw didn't avail. Terbutaline comes under Beta-2 Agonists of banned substances that finds it mention in World Anti-Doping ncy (WA) list.

05 April 2019: Email reminder to NDTL regarding pending reports.

02 May 2019: NDTL report of Mr. Shaw's verse Analytical Finding (AAF) received by BCCI.
02 May 2019: NDTL requested to send complete Laboratory Documentation Pack by BCCI.
17 May 2019: Laboratory Documentation Pack received by BCCI.
18 May 2019: All relevant documents sent to Independent Review Board (IRB) through International Doping Tests & Manment (IDTM).
20 May 2019: IDTM appointed 3 (three) IRB members (a Lawyer, a Sports Physician, and a Scientist).

16 July 2019: tice of Charge served upon Mr. Shaw.
