BCCI to honour World Series-winning physically challenged players

BCCI is set to hour physically disabled players with cash awards for ir title triumph in inaugural T20 Physical Disability World Cricket Series, Committee of ministrator (CoA) member Diana Edujli said here on Friday. Title favourites India lifted inaugural T20 Physical Disability World Cricket Series after beating hosts England by 36 runs at New Ro Stium in Worcester in August this year. Edulji, though, did t reveal exact amount approved by CoA in its last meeting in New Delhi to hour disabled cricketers.

"As a member of CoA appointed by Supreme Court, Mr (Vid) Rai is chairman and w we have (retired left) General (Ravi) Thodge, three of us are looking more at angle of players benefit," Edulji said.
" players have to only concentrate on performing on ground and everything else is being looked after and we are seeing to it that se policy matters are framed in our Constitution so that y cant be changed after we are hand over reigns on October 22 if elections happen (on time)," she said in presence of Union Minister Nitin Gkari here.

We are houring all players. t only players, in our last meeting in Delhi two days back I requested that support staff and association have to get something (some monetary benefit)," Edulji said."This is (just) beginning, play well, play hard and play to win," ded former India women's team captain. Gkari also assured support to physically-disabled team, saying he will take up ir issues with concerned Cabinet colleagues. Former India pacer Umesh Kulkarni, officials of All India Cricket Association for Physically Challenged and ted cricket coach Dinesh L were present on occasion.
