BCCI to pay outgoing CoA's salaries within 48 hours: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court passed the remuneration for the Committee of Administrators – past and present on a pro-rata basis, funds will be released within 48 hours.

Supreme Court passed remuneration for outgoing Committee of ministrators (CoA) – past and present on a pro-rata basis. According to a report by a leing media daily,  apex court ordered release of funds within next 48 hours to CoA. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will bear all costs and expenses that have been undertaken by COA. It will also include prices of present proceedings that may be initiated against m.

Vid Rai and his colleague, Diana Edulji are only two CoA members w, making m only two to receive all allotted remuneration. Supreme Court ordered CoA members to be paid Rs 10 lakh per month for 11 months in 2017, Rs 11 Lakh per month for 12 months in 2018 and Rs 12 lakh per month in 2019. Rai and Edulji will be paid around 3.5 crores.

Meanwhile, Rai’s past colleagues such as banker Vikram Limaye, who resigned from COA and joined National Stock Exchange (NSE) and historian Ramchandra Guha, who also quit job due to functioning of committee, will be paid on pro-rata for services rendered.

BCCI CEO Rahul Johri has signed proposal for remuneration, which has been presented in Supreme Court by Amicus Curiae. It has been alrey approved w. Supreme Court has said that purpose and objective of appointing COA will end upon assumption of charge by elected body led by Sourav Ganguly. court explained that CoA shall be discharged of all ir obligations.

order stated that committee and officers who have carried out directions of CoA should be immune while acting as such from action in respect of any act performed by m as CoA in good faith. Also, y ded that proceedings should be initiated without leave of court.
