BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal has urged the need to increase revenue as expenses have shot up considerably. He added that BCCI is not convinced with ICC's proposal

newly appointed BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal's primary objective is to increase board's revenue generation by curbing unnecessary expenditures and inste use that money to improve financial health of first-class cricketers. Dhumal, ar young face in 'Team Sourav Ganguly's cabinet, has been "surprised" at amount of expenses that h gone up in past few years mainly due to legal hassles.

Increasing BCCI revenue
"My goal is to increase BCCI revenue as what has happened w is that revenues are stable but expenses have gone up. ministrative and legal expenses need to be checked," BCCI treasurer told PTI during an interaction.
"re are few or issues that we need to handle including tax liabilities and issues with past IPL franchisees also needs to be dressed," Dhumal said. He echoed president Ganguly's sentiment that first-class cricketers needed to be taken care of and hence y need more financial resources. "We need to increase revenue so that it can benefit first-class cricketers as we would be able to distribute amount among m. Because y are required to be looked after," he said.
While y haven't decided on any amount, Dhumal is confident y will have a figure once re is a meeting of senior members and Apex Council. "We need to sit with president and or senior members of Apex Council and decide on an amount. But it will depend on quantum of increase in revenues as we have to check how much we are earning from bilateral and or ICC tournaments," he said. But one thing Dhumal is hellbent on is to check undue expenses and said that is something n-negotiable."Definitely, legal expenses have shot up in past few years. t only am I surprised but all members are surprised with kind of expenses incurred. This needs to be checked and we will definitely do it."

He also me it clear that BCCI is t on board as far as FTP for 2023-2031 cycle is concerned. "We are t agreeable to new proposal of ICC with regards to increase of tournaments," he said. He seemed peeved that ICC's new working group doesn't have a BCCI representation. "Could we have ever imagined that BCCI will t have a say in ICC's romap? It was never imagined. What is ICC without BCCI?"
