BCCI trumps PCB again as ICC abandons Indo-Pak Women's Championship qualifying round
A BCCI official has clarified that it needs the Indian government's permission to be involved in any bilateral matches involving Pakistan in cricket.

BCCI official explains that government permission is needed to play Pakistan
Recently, ICC anunced that it had come to conclusion on India vs. Pakistan Women's three-match ODI series, which was supposed to be played between July-vember 2019, has been abandoned. series was a part of ICC Women's Championship, which would also act as a qualifier for 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup. series ended up t happening and ICC has w declared that both teams will be sharing points that were up for grabs in three-match series.

Speaking to IANS, a BCCI official explained that BCCI lawyers explained to ICC that government intervention also matters before India plays Pakistan. "It is t just about playing Pakistan. So, if we do t get clearance from government, how can we play m?", said BCCI official. It was after this that ICC finally understood matter and gave its final verdict.

PCB chairman t expecting help from India
BCCI and PCB were at loggerheads in past as well over issue with men's cricket. PCB had dragged BCCI to court in 2018 for allegedly 't houring' a $70 million deal signed between m for six bilateral series to be played between 2015-2023. PCB had lost case after a decision was made by ICC's Disputes panel of lawyers in Dubai, having to pay $1.6 million to BCCI reportedly for same. BCCI won case on basis of very reason of government t permitting m to play cricket with Pakistan and same was mentioned in that agreement too.
Recently, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani appeared on PCB podcast and talked about losses that PCB would face because of COVID-19. Mani also spoke about playing cricket with India and mentioned that PCB is t making plans with India in mind or depending on Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI to co-operate.

Recently, Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar called both nations to put ir differences aside and play a bilateral series to raise money for COVID-19 relief in both countries as well. Akhtar's suggestions received a lot of polarised reactions.
