BCCI writes to CA, demands 'IPL-style' bio-bubble amid cloud of doubt on 4th Test at Gabba

Casting a cloud of doubt on fourth Test of Border Gavaskar series, BCCI has written a letter to Cricket Australia (CA) allaying its concerns over hard quarantine rules in Brisbane, as per PTI. Quoting a top BCCI official, news ncy has affirmed that Indian cricket board has cited Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between two boards for tour. BCCI has stated that MoU does t mention any specifications of two hard quarantines in separate cities.
“ discussions are still on but today BCCI has formally sent a letter seeking relaxation of hard quarantine for its players if y are to have match in Brisbane. MoU that was signed never mentioned about two hard quarantines. India have done one hard quarantine in Sydney” a senior BCCI official told PTI.

BCCI has sought for an 'IPL style' bio-bubble and wants players to be allowed moving around in hotel. Cricket Australia has maintained that it is in constant touch with its counterparts in India to allay concerns. However, several comments from ministers in Queensland have irked Indian board. Earlier, Queensland's Show Minister for Health Ros Bates has issued a mess to touring Indian team and BCCI. "If Indians don't want to play by rules, don't come," Bates said while dressing local media. As per PTI, BCCI has expressed strong objections to such comments.

controversy triggered after several reports in Australian media claimed that Team India has refrained from undergoing hard quarantine in Brisbane, where fourth and final Test of series is slated to be played. As per quarantine rules in Brisbane, players have to be strictly confined to ir hotel rooms, which has been a concern for Indian team members, especially after several players have been in bio-bubble for more than 6 months w. An official comment from BCCI is still awaited on matter.

Meanwhile, stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane has said that Men in Blue are focussed on third Test, which is currently underway at Sydney, leaving rest to manment. At press conference on eve of third match, Rahane h, however, expressed his discomfort at stringent curbs in Australia.

"We are t at all anyed but yes re are some challenges in quarantine as life in Sydney is completely rmal. We are t at all anyed and we kw what’s our priority here. We all are prepared and we want to play some good cricket. We kw that life in Sydney is rmal but players are stuck in ir rooms which is okay. We kw how to handle it and we are prepared for any kind of situation," skipper h said.

On or hand, Rahane's Australian counterpart Tim Paine signalled that re might be uncertainty over venue for fourth Test if 'powerful' Indian board puts pressure. " inside frustration but a bit of uncertainty because when you hear things like that coming particularly from India, which holds a lot of power in world cricket, it's likely that it could happen," Australian Test skipper said.
