Ben Stokes Praises James Anderson's Legacy as He Bonds with Kids Post Farewell Test vs West Indies

England won the opening Test match of the series between England and West Indies from July 10 to 12, 2024 by an innings and 114 runs, therefore gaining a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Gus Atkinson won Player of the Match honours on the last day with his exceptional performance of 5 wickets for 61 runs in 14 overs and 7 wickets for 45 runs in the first inning. Ben Stokes reacts to his kids playing cricket with Jimmy Anderson after his retirement match at the Lords

England captain Ben Stokes responded to a video showing his kids playing with James Anderson, who retired from cricket following the first Test against the West Indies at Lord's. Stokes discussed X and said his children will eventually come to know Anderson's renowned reputation. Stokes uploaded a string of pictures on Instagram before the third day of the Test, remembering his time with Anderson, whom he dubbed the "Greatest Of All Time." 

Stokes responded to a video showing the 41-year-old Anderson playing with Stokes' kids that ESPNcricinfo released on social media. Ben Stokes wrote on X:

James Anderson required nine wickets in his final Test match to exceed Shane Warne's record of 708 wickets and claim the title of the most successful wicket-taker in Test cricket. Despite Anderson's claim of only four wickets, which brings his career total to 704, he still holds the title of England's highest wicket-taker by a substantial margin. 

He will be remembered as on of the greatest Test players in the history of the sport. England will now play the second Test on July 18, 2024.
