2019-20 season of Big Bash went underway at Gabba on Tuesday. Kevin Pietersen took to Twitter and commented about venue of opening fixture. He referred venue as a ‘dump’ and said tournament will gradually move on to ‘proper’ Australian cities. A while later, Brisbane Heat posted a reply to Kevin Pietersen’s tweet in which y implied that English cricketer is welcome to city at any time. In ir tweet, Heat hilariously responded that y have a VIP suite waiting for former batsman. Meanwhile, tournament opened with a game between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder.

Earlier, Sydney Thunder captain Callum Ferguson won toss and opted to bat first. Thunder completed ir 20-overs and posted 172-6 on board. At time of writing report, Brisbane Heat were 116-7 off ir 16 overs. Heat still require 57 runs to win from 24 balls to register ir first win of tournament.
