Both the teams have made a different start to the tournament. Karnataka, who are coming into the tournament after winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy, continued their dominating form winning their first match against Uttarakhand by 9 wickets.

Meanwhile, Baroda lost their opening match of the tournament to Goa by four wickets. Batting first, Baroda posted 150 runs thanks to a half-century by Swapnil Singh. Yusuf Pathan was dismissed for a duck. In reply, Goa riding behind fine unbeaten 60 run knock by Suyash Prabhudessai went onto win the match by four wickets.
