Can Take Things Forward Only After ICC Provides Clarity On BCCI's Refusal To Play In Pakistan: Naqvi

Naqvi, who is also the federal interior minister, confirmed the PCB had sent a letter to the ICC on the BCCI's decision to not send its team to Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi on Monday said he is yet to get a response from ICC over BCCI's refusal to play Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

Earlier this month, BCCI me it clear to ICC that it won't send national team to Pakistan and wants its games to be held in a third country. PCB has rejected hybrid model and has sought clarity from ICC on why India doesn't want to travel to Pakistan.

India has not played in Pakistan since 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. ICC event is scheduled in February-March.

"If India has any concerns about sending ir team to Pakistan y must talk to us and we will remove m. I don't think re is any reason for India not to come to Pakistan for Champions Trophy," Naqvi told reporters.

Naqvi, who is also federal interior minister, confirmed PCB h sent a letter to ICC on BCCI's decision to not send its team to Pakistan.

"We are directly interacting with ICC and we are still waiting for a response from m so we can take things forward," he said.

Asked if matter will be complicated furr after Jay Shah takes over as ICC chairman on December 1, Naqvi said: "Things don't work like this, every board is independent and has its own say and I think ICC must also think about its credibility as it represents all cricket boards of world." Naqvi sidestepped questions about Muzaffarab, located in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, being removed from Champions 'Trophy Tour' and also about wher Pakistan would accept hybrid model for tournament.

BCCI h raised strong objections to 'Trophy Tour' being staged in disputed territory.

"I am here to talk about construction work progress and we are waiting for ICC to respond to us as y also have to announce schedule." Talking about renovation work for Champions Trophy, he said construction is progressing on schedule.

"We are ahe of our deline to complete construction and finishing at all three stiums in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi."
