The era of the new Team India began with an absolute bang after the young Indian side rallied over Zimbabwe like a freight train. After losing out on the opening match, the Men in Blue powered through to put themselves in the driver's seat. After coming off the ICC Men's T20 World Cup with a title win, Team India has been oozing with confidence as they bagged the wins with pride in Harare. Subhman Gill, who featured in his maiden captaincy stint for the Men in Blue, secured a strong series win in his maiden assignment. After the culmination of all the games, Team India's skipper, Shubman Gill, put up an amusing statement on taking up the charge as the captain.

Shubman Gill's nervy response after leading Team India to a series win vs ZIM 

After India's series win against Zimbabwe, several players expressed their thoughts after the final match. Skipper Shubman Gill expressed his thoughts on leading the side and made a cheeky response upon captaining the Men in Blue.

“[Kabhi kabhi thoda tight karney ka time hota hai to tight karna bhi zaroori hai.] Sometimes we have to tighten up the screws which is also important. I have played with these players across age groups, which made my job as a captain quite easy.

"I scored my first international century here in Zimbabwe. Captaining here for the first time and winning the series is definitely very special for me. If I had to sum up the series in one word, I think it would be spectacular,” Shubman Gill said after the end of the series on a video shared by the BCCI.

Team India secured a 4-1 lead in the series after suffering a shocking loss to Zimbabwe in the opening match. But the team will have another challenge as the Men in Blue will now feature against Sri Lanka in an Away series. The games will take place in the white-ball format, with three T20Is and ODIs, respectively. It will be the first assignment of Gautam Gambhir as the head coach, and expect a fresh team to be appointed for the task.
