'They Are At The Backend': World Cup Winning Australia Star Gives An Honest Take On Virat and Rohit
India recently lost 3-0 to New Zealand in their home conditions. The loss has dented India's hopes of qualifying for the World Test Championship 2025 Finals

WTC 2025 Final: Rohit Sharma 's Team India suffered a 3-0 series loss at the hands of Tom Latham's New Zealand. The IND vs NZ Test series panned out to be a horrific one for the Indian Test team and they have now been virtually knocked out of the World Test Championship Finals. India's fortunes quickly changed in a matter of three weeks. Prior to the New Zealand series, the Indians looked almost certain to the play the WTC finals, but the series loss to New Zealand has dented their hopes.
Before the New Zealand series, India needed only three wins out of their remaining eight games to qualify for the finals of the World Test Championship. But after the horrific series defeat against New Zealand, the Indians now need to win four remaining out of their five Test matches that they are scheduled to play in Australia. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in particular are under the scanner due to their declining form and now former Australia star David Warner too has opened up on the star duo.

David Warner's Honest Take On Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli
India will tour Australia for the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India are the defending champions of the BGT crown and have defeated Australia twice on their previous two tours, one of them without Virat Kohli. But this time around, things are pretty different for India. They have the added pressure of qualifying for the WTC Finals and also defending their Border-Gavaskar crown.
Much ahead of this important series, David Warner, who recently retired from international cricket shared his honest take on both Virat and Rohit's future and how big the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be on them.

'Those two there hold the key to India is going to go. Young opening batter, Jaiswal as well, he's a talent, but those two guys, yeah age is just a number, but they're at the backend. It's the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Their attitude, if they're on, those two guys are hard to stop. Yeah it's going to be a big summer for them', said Warner while speaking to Fox Cricket.

Rohit Sharma Doubtful For First Test
India, in their squad for the Australia tour included Abhimanyu Easwaran as the backup opener. After their series loss against new Zealand, Rohit Sharma expressed his doubts about being present for the first Border-Gavaskar Test match. Rohit Sharma is the captain of the side and in his absence, Jasprit Bumrah might lead the side in the series opener.
