Deepak Chahar, who on Sunday etched his name in the record books, has thanked his well-wishers for their support. Chahar, who picked up the best figures by a bowler in T20I cricket, shared an update on Instagram on Monday, posting pictures from the match on official Instagram account. He finished with figures of 6/7 as India won the 3rd T20I in Nagpur to clinch the series 2-1.

Deepak Chahar posted a series of pictures on Instagram on Monday. The CSK fast bowler captioned the images as, “A night to remember 😍 . Thank you so much to each and everyone for your wishes 🙏.” Chahar posted pictures of him celebrating a wicket, a picture with both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards. He also shared a picture of him with stand-in captain Rohit Sharma.

Deepak Chahar headlines the India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20
Deepak Chahar, playing only 7th T20I, picked up the wickets of Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar in his first over, that put the brakes on Bangladesh’s chase. He returned to bowl his second in the 13th over, picking up the wicket of Mohammad Mithun, thus ending a 98-run stand. The Rajasthan bowler came back at the death, picking up the first-ever hat-trick by an Indian in T20Is en-route recording the best ever figures in T20I cricket. Earlier, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul led India’s charge helping them reach 174/5, which in the end proved too much for Bangladesh after Deepak Chahar’s brilliance.

The rise of Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar first came into recognition after picking up 8 wickets against Hyderabad on his first-class debut for Rajasthan. Chahar then struggled with injuries and fitness while also lost form, which forced the ertswhile Director of Rajasthan Cricket, Greg Chappell to turn him down. However, he was impressive for the Rising Pune Supergiant and was subsequently selected by Chennai Super Kings ahead of their return season in 2018. Deepak Chahar redeemed himself in the IPL 2018 for CSK, who went on to lift the IPL trophy. He was the highest wicket-taker among Indian pacers in the IPL 2019, picking up 22 wickets in 17 games.
