Delhi Capitals rub it in after KKR's 'Andre The Giant' taunt backfires

Kings XI Punjab will be locking horns with Delhi Capitals at the IS Bindra Stadium on Monday. Both teams will be aiming for their second win of the season. Punjab will be eager to register two straight home wins while Delhi will be looking for their second away win. Both teams will be heading into this contest after having won their previous games. Kings XI Punjab overcame Mumbai Indians by eight wickets on Saturday while Delhi Capitals won a thrilling Super Over against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders on the same night.

Prior to Delhi's clash against Punjab in Mohali, the Delhi franchise decided to use star KKR batsman Andre Russell's image where he was yorked by Kagiso Rabada in Saturday's game. Delhi Capitals shared this image on Twitter.

This was in response to the statement made by KKR to Delhi Capitals before the two teams had taken to the field on Saturday evening.

Russell had scored a splendid 28-ball 62 at a strike rate of 221.43 which included four boundaries and six maximums. He had also stitched in a 95 run stand with skipper Dinesh Karthik who also played a crucial knock of a 36-ball 50 after KKR were in all sorts of trouble at 61/5 before the 10th over. Russell's pyrotechnics ensured that the 2012 & 2014 winners got to a fighting total of 185/8 in their 20 overs 

In reply, youngster Prithvi Shaw kept Delhi in the hunt with his fantastic knock of a 55-ball 99 at a strike rate of 180.00. Kuldeep Yadav bowled a superb penultimate over which ensured that the game ended in a tie and the winner had to be determined by a Super Over. The Capitals were kept on their toes in the Super Over as Prasidh Krishna bowled a decent over which ensured that the Capitals could only manage to get 10 runs. With just 11 runs needed for victory, KKR decided to send Andre Russell out in the middle to get the job done for them. However, the big West Indian all-rounder could not succeed in repeating his first innings heroics as he was yorked by Kagiso Rabada on the third delivery. The South African speedster then kept the KKR batsmen at bay by bowling some good yorkers and eventually Delhi went on to win the contest by three runs.
