Did Ishan Kishan obstruct the field against Sri Lanka?

Following a fabulous start, Team India lost three wickets in quick succession during the Ind vs. SL game. All eyes were on Ishan Kishan again as he had the job in hand of resurrecting the innings. He along with KL Rahul put on 63-run stand. However, as per some netizens, the partnership could have been broken earlier had Kishan been given out for what he did in the 25th over of India's innings.

It was the second last ball of the Dhananjaya de Silva's over. Ishan Kishan played a safe shot for no run, the fielder picked the ball quickly and threw it towards the wicketkeeper, Kishan came in the way and caught the ball. According to many, this was a case of obstruction and Kishan survived because Sri Lanka did not appeal. So, was it really the case, did he obstruct the field?

Ishan Kishan's action within the rulebook

To lay clarity on this, NO! There was no case of obstruction of field here. When Ishan Kishan touched the ball, he was already in his crease. Had he made a similar move standing out of the crease then he would have been given out, but it wasn't to be. Thus, all the claims made on social media do not hold any weight.
