DK reveals his ideal picks for Rahane, Pujara at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy
With the Border Gavaskar Trophy approaching soon, India and Australia will have to figure out potent candidates for the role as both sides lock horns. During an appearance on the HeyCB with DK show, Dinesh Karthik was named the ideal heir for the positions of Indian Test cricket greats, Ajinkya Rahane & Cheteshwar Pujara. The former India wicketkeeper picked Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan for the roles, saying that they batted well against the Three Lions in the home test series. DK believes that it will be a massive task, but given their potential and calibre, they could stand up for the role in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
“Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan. Both of those batters have done really well against England in the home series that recently happened at the start of the year. I have a feeling both of them will definitely be on that flight to Australia and will be trying to do their best. We will know if they’re able to replace both Ajinkya and Pujji (Pujara). Big shoes to fill, but they have the quality and calibre in them,” Dinesh Karthik said.
