Rohit Sharma-Led Team India Squad For Tests vs Bangladesh to be Announced on THIS Date

According to reports, BCCI will announce the squad for India's test series against Bangladesh at the end of the first round of Duleep Trophy matches.

The BCCI selection committee is all set to announce the India squad for their visit to Bangladesh after the first round of the upcoming Duleep Trophy has concluded. The 2024 Duleep Trophy will begin on Thursday in Bengaluru and Anantapur. India's matches against Bangladesh will begin on 19th September and will be India's first test match since defeating England at home. The selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar will most likely announce the squad after the first round of Duleep Trophy matches. 

Several Big Names To Feature In Duleep Trophy 

Most of the regular Indian names such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah would not be featuring in the Duleep Trophy but apart from them most of the players from the Indian Cricket Team have been named to participate in the Duleep Trophy matches.

The 2024-25 Domestic season is set to kick off tomorrow with the prestigious Duleep Trophy! It’s an exciting start as four teams, featuring some of the finest longer-format cricketers in the country will go head to head.

BCCI Training Camp And Long Test Calender  

According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, BCCI will name the squad for the Bangladesh test matches at the end of the first round of the Duleep Trophy. It is also being reported that the selected players will then be required to attend a training camp in Chennai on September 12 and then proceed to the Bangladesh test matches on 19th September.

With the start of the Bangladesh series, begins India's long test calendar as part of the World Test Championship. After the conclusion of the Bangladesh test series, India will play three test matches at home against New Zealand in October and then travel to South Africa for a five-match white ball series. After that India will end the year by playing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. 

India currently sits at the top of the table in the World Test Championship Rankings.
