Elton John discussed cricket with World Cup winning Liam Plunkett when the England bowler visited Sir John before his gig at Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia.

Liam Plunkett, who was a member of England's World Cup-winning squad, got an opportunity to discuss various aspects of cricket with singer Sir Elton John.

Elton John, who is a legendary singer-songwriter, is currently on his farewell tour and was performing at the Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia on the weekend.
The legendary singer is a massive cricket fan. He had reportedly gone on to celebrate England's 1986/87 Ashes series win in Australia with the touring players which included the like of Ian Botham, Mike Gatting, David Gower and Middlesbrough-born batsman Bill Athey.

Plunkett was the pick of the England bowlers in the World Cup final win over New Zealand at Lord's. He met the 72-year-old singer backstage before his performance on Saturday.
After the show, he wrote on his Twitter handle: “Legend! Epic evening getting to chat cricket with Elton John before his show in Philadelphia on Saturday night. What an honour to witness your farewell tour. Now that's a performance we won't forget! Thank you.”

The England pacer spends his spare time away from competitive cricket in the United States where he shares a house in Pennsylvania with his American wife Emeleah.
The Englishman along with his wife travelled from their home to Philadelphia for the 25 song show, which included classic hits like Bennie And The Jets, Rocket Man, Your Song and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
Plunkett will return to action later this month when he plays for Bangla Tigers ahead of the Abu Dhabi T10 competition. He's also been drafted by Welsh Fire for next summer's The Hundred competition and he'll play country cricket for Surrey.
