Enraged Carlos Brathwaite Vents Out Anger On Helmet, Smashes It Out of the Park After Given Out

Carlos Brathwaite, who is known for smashing big sixes, has hogged the spotlight again, this time not because of striking the ball out of the park but due to cutting out an enraged figure after getting dismissed. Livid with the umpire's decision during the New York Strikers vs Boca Raton Trailblazers match-up in the Max 60 Cayman Islands league, Brathwaite vented out his frustration on his helmet, whacking it out of the field with some sweet timing.

Carlos Brathwaite Smashes His Helmet Out of the Park

The incident took place when the New York Strikers' innings was in disarray in the Qualifier 1 of the T10 game. Strikers had amassed 88/6 after 8.2 overs, and the onus was on big hitter Carlos Brathwaite to provide a final flourish to the team. However, Brathwaite couldn't succeed in his objective and had to make a long walk to the pavilion after Joshua Little's short ball hit his shoulder and travelled straight to the keeper who appealed for a caught-behind and received a positive retort from the umpire. The Strikers all-rounder left fuming at the decision and hence displayed his agony on his helmet.

Carlos Brathwaite's Team Advances to the Final

Despite Brathwaite's departure, the Strikers were able to cross the 100-run mark. They gave Boca Raton Trailblazers a target of 104, which turned out to be too much for them. Brathwaite redeemed himself with the ball, he bowled some tight overs and made sure the victory does not slip under the grip of the New York Strikers. They won the match by 8 runs and have advanced to the final of the tournament.

“My aim was to make them hit towards the larger side of the field. The skipper suggested keeping things predictable and just executing the plan. It worked out well. Later in the game, it was more about sticking to a clear plan rather than trying risky slower balls. I’m happy with how clearly I approached it and how it helped us limit their runs." Carlos Brathwaite said after the match.
