The Champions Trophy hosting debate has spread like wildfire as Pakistan have been gearing up for the coveted tournament. But India's reluctance to send the Men in Blue continues as the BCCI has reportedly asked the ICC for a hybrid model. After Asia Cup , the 2025 CT could take place under the hybrid model, but the PCB has been rigid over their stance to fully host it in Pakistan . Amid the tussle, a former Pakistani cricketer spoke out on the situation, where he boldly referred that Team India should not travel to Pakistan amid the tensions.

In an exclusive interaction with Republic World, Danish Kaneria spoke out on the chances of Team India travelling to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy . The former spinner cited that the security concerns in Pakistan are still at large and were his sole concern for India's travel. He boldly affirmed that India will

"We saw the Sri Lankan Team travelled to Pakistan and after that what happened with them. The international cricket in Pakistan went away. So, thinking about that, the situation of Pakistan right now and the concerns which the Indian team have over in Pakistan, travelling to Pakistan there is a concern so it's not great taking a risk and travelling to Pakistan that's my only concern.

"I think throughout time things will get better they need to look into the matter very well and then decide what to do further on. They have to have a good delegation from Pakistan . They have to have a good friendship with the BCCI and take starts from there. I think this ICC Champions Trophy will be a hybrid model," Danish Kaneria said.

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has expressed his disapproval of the nation's security measures in a loud manner and has declared that Team India should not visit Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy .

The only cricket competition where the India- Pakistan rivalry is evident is in the ICC tournaments; the last time these two teams faced off was at the T20 World Cup in New York. It is unclear at this time if Team India will visit Pakistan or if a hybrid format will be used to host the competition.
