Former Australian coach John Buchanan has warned India's Test deputy Ajinkya Rahane not to emulate Virat Kohli in his absence in the four-match Test series

Former coach of Australian cricket team John Buchanan has said that Team India's vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is t like Virat Kohli in his gameplay and shouldn't try to emulate his captain if middle-order mainstay wishes to succeed in upcoming series against Australia. Both teams will be locking horns in a four-match Test series that gets underway on December 17.

"Virat's departure from team is a huge blow to Indian campaign in Australia. y will miss his enthusiasm, his competitiveness, his belief in what y can do as a team. On top of this, y will be missing one of finest batsmen in world cricket," said Buchanan during an exclusive interaction with ANI from Brisbane.

"I do t have any insight into Rahane as a leer and a captain. He will t be Kohli, r should he try to be. His first job will be to score runs, and le by example this way," ded former Australian coach.

Virat Kohli in 2020/21 Australia series

Kohli will be leing India in limited-overs series against five-time world champions that includes three One Day Internationals which will be followed by same number of T20Is. He will n be making a solitary Test appearance by leing his team in opening Test match at elaide Oval. s of w, elaide Test is expected to be played under lights with pink-ball.

With Rohit Sharma's inclusion in India's Test squ for Australia series, it is likely that opening batsman might also le team, after Kohli's departure. Ajinkya Rahane, Test vice-captain, could also be leing squ in place of Virat Kohli. However, re has been final decision on it yet.
