Manoj Tiwary retires from all forms of cricket

Tiwary made his debut in first-class cricket for Bengal in the 2004-2005 season. He quickly rose through the ranks and caught the attention of Indian selectors with his impressive performances in domestic competitions like the Ranji Trophy and the Duleep Trophy.

He made his international debut for India in an ODI against Australia in February 2008. However, opportunities at the highest level were limited for Tiwary, and he had to wait for scattered chances to prove himself.

Tiwary was clean bowled by Australian pace sensation Brett Lee in his debut ODI match for India. Tiwary was removed for a score of 2 off 16 balls in the first match of the Commonwealth Bank Series in 2008.

One of his standout performances in international cricket came during the 2011 bilateral series against the West Indies when he scored his maiden ODI century. However, he could not cement his place in the Indian team due to stiff competition from other talented players.

Tiwary continued to perform consistently in domestic cricket, captaining Bengal in the Ranji Trophy and scoring nearly 10,000 runs at 48.56. He also represented various franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during his career including Delhi Daredevils and Rising Pune Supergiants.
