Talking to media on Wednesday, October 23, former Supreme Court (SC)-appointed Committee of ministrators (CoA) chief Vid Rai asserted that handling old guard of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was challenge in comparison to his tenure as Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG). He mentioned that he h interaction with m, barring for court. Revealing that he did t bor about criticism, he opined that those opposing reforms h vested interests.

Rai said, “This (CoA) was challenge at all. I h interaction with m ( disqualified 70 plus people). y h interaction only in court. As far as criticism and attempting to malign me is concerned, I don't care about any of those things. Anybody who was opposing reforms, I believe, h vested interest.”

‘Some dissatisfied people have gone to court’

former CAG also dressed criticism that CoA continued to remain in charge for much longer, by highlighting SC judgement. He pinpointed fact that 92 Interim Applications were filed in SC. Rai observed that its mandate was to implement reforms.

He ded, “I will tell you what went wrong. re were 92 Interim Applications (IA) filed (in SC). n appointment of new Amicus Curiae (PS Narsimha), who was asked to mediate and it ended only in August 2019. About allegations that we got into ministration but what is order of SC judgement in August 9, 2018? That we will implement reforms and run ministration of BCCI till general body takes over. People alleged we clung on but at same time, dissatisfied people have gone to court saying that CoA h business ordering elections. I am perplexed.”

“It has been a very satisfying experience because re are four former players in major ministration w. re is Sourav (Ganguly) as BCCI president, IPL chairman is Brijesh Patel, Anshuman Gaekw, and Shantha Rangaswamy are in Apex Council. We have been able to create a Players' Association, which wasn't initially being accepted. We h women's IPL, even though on a smaller scale but matches were of high quality. We have been totally transparent. minutes of 100-plus CoA meetings (status reports) are available on board's website. re has been dilution of Lodha recommendations,” he remarked.
