'Virat Kohli will get full house': Sourav Ganguly ahead of the first Pink Ball Test match

Ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh which will be a day-night affair at the iconic Eden Gardens on November 22, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has said Captain Virat Kohli will be extremely happy to see a packed house.  This will also mark the occasion where a pink-ball international Test match will be played for the very first time in India. Terming Kohli as a great player, Ganguly said that he should be playing in front of a full house.

"He is a great player and he should be playing in front of a packed house. He will be happy to see it full house when he walks out to bat on day one. You will love the atmosphere at the Eden so come and watch." 

Ganguly added that the greats of Indian cricket should not play in front of empty stands and Eden Gardens will not disappoint.

"You can't have greats of the Indian cricket play in front of empty stands. And here you will have a full house for the first three days," Ganguly added. 

India's last series against South Africa witnessed a poor turnout but the tickets for the first three days of the pink ball Test, beginning have already been sold out. "This was much more difficult and we managed to fill 65,000 on each of the first three days. It feels more satisfying," said Ganguly

Virat Kohli practices with the pink ball in advance

Indian skipper Virat Kohli had hit the nets at the team's practice session on November 12. The captain was seen practising some challenging shots as he slammed the pink ball with his iconic drives and blocks. With a lot of speculation surrounding the pink ball's behaviour, the Indian team has ensured to prepare well in advance. Earlier in the day, Indian batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane who have played with the pink ball in domestic cricket had said the team was confident of adapting to the new feature.
