'Looking Forward': Gautam Gambhir Already Has His Eyes Set On Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia
Gautam Gambhir has taken over as the head coach of Indian Cricket Team and in his first press conference as coach, he already has his eyes set on BGT.

Gautam Gambhir was officially unveiled as India's new head coach by BCCI and alongside chief selector Ajit Agarkar, Gautam Gambhir attended his first press conference as coach of India. Gautam Gambhir and Team India then jetted for Sri Lanka for his debut series as head coach where India will play three T20Is and three ODIs.
While, Gautam Gambhir is focused on his first tour as head coach he did make his intentions clear that he wants to prioritise Test Cricket and is looking forward to the Border Gavaskar trophy where India will travel to Australia to try and win a third consecutive series down under.

Gautam Gambhir's Focus on Test Cricket and Border Gavaskar Trophy
India has held a strong grip over Border Gavaskar Trophy and have dominated Australia in their past two visits down under. Having won in 2018 and 2021, India and Gautam Gambhir will be looking to win a third consecutive series at the home of their arch rivals.
Speaking on the challenge post Sri Lanka, India will play 10 test matches and Gambhir is fully focused on getting the best in those 10 matches and winning the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

“Always been a challenge. After the Sri Lanka tour, we have got a month's break. And then we have got 10 Test matches. We have got the big tour of Australia coming up as well. I think that's what challenges are all about. Hopefully, we can do well in those Test matches,” said Gautam Gambhir in his press conference.

Gautam Gambhir further revealed that the non selection of players like Ravindra Jadeja have been made keeping in mind that India will play 10 test matches in the future.
“The chairman of selectors has already clarified that some of the players who missed out missed out because of the 10 Tests. Ravindra Jadeja, for example, is an important part of those Tests. Looking forward to those 10 Test matches,” revealed Gautam Gambhir.
