Gautam Gambhir dubs ICC rule as 'ridiculous' as England wins World Cup 2019 beating New Zealand with more boundaries

As England pulls off a thriller win in the World Cup 2019 by beating New Zealand in the Super Over to clinch their first World Cup title, as per the rule of ICC, former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter to call the rule of ICC as 'ridiculous'.

In the last ball of the super over, 2 runs were needed from 1 ball. Jofra Archer had made a comeback well after conceding the six. New Zealand's Martin Guptill, better known to Indian fans for scripting MS Dhoni's was on strike. New Zealand took one run to level the score, but as per ICC rules, England won due to more boundaries scored. As the nail biting match got over, the cricketer turned politician congratulated both the teams and expressed his suprise by saying that he doesn't understand how a match of such proportion can be decided on number of boundaries. He said that in his opinion both are the winners.

Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle said that his pre tournament favourite won the match and 'there won't be a World Cup FInal like this ever.'

Meanwhile, Ben Stokes went trending on Twitter after his four runs that turned the game for England. Netizens also said that New Zealand understood the price of run out by comparing the last run in their super over to that of MS Dhoni's run out. Some others also called it their Karma to defeat India that paid back.
