Rohit Sharma & Gautam Gambhir To Rely On ‘Slow’ Tactics For 2nd IND vs NZ Test In Pune
Rohit Sharma -led Team India's shocking overall dismissal at 46 has startled the camp, and they will look to avoid such a scenario in the future. A lot of criticism was relayed toward the pitch, and questions were also raised on what type of track would be used for the 2nd test match in Pune. If reports are to be believed, expect a similar pitch like the one used in Bengaluru for the upcoming red-ball match between the two cricketing giants.
As per a report from ESPNcricinfo, for the second test, a slow-turning pitch is reportedly in store. The pitch, which is packed with black soil, will have less bounce than it did for the first test in Bengaluru. Additionally, a slightly slower and flatter pitch is expected. It's also being said that the second test's pitch will have almost no grass on it. Similar to Bengaluru, the management is expected to use at least three spinners if the pitch is indeed low and slow.

For Team India, pressure has mounted on them as they need to win the remaining set of matches in the series. Both matches will take place in Maharashtra , with the second one being at the MCA Stadium in Pune and the third at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Indian Cricket Team has also made a notable move after calling up all-rounder Washington Sundar, who would link up with the team in Pune. Sundar's inclusion is also noteworthy, as it will give Team India another spin-bowling option alongside R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. It is yet to be seen if the hosts try to take the advantage of the MCA pitch.
