Gautam Gambhir's 2007 T20 WC Winning Teammate Sheds Dissects His Contribution Towards KKR

Team India has named Gautam Gambhir as its new head coach. After the end of India's tour of Zimbabwe, Gambhir will assume command. Gambhir’s first duty as the new coach will be the series against Sri Lanka, which begins on July 27. Dinesh Karthik made a huge statement about Gautam Gambhir ahead of his coaching stint with India 

Dinesh Karthik praised Gautam Gambhir's teaching skills and acknowledged Gautam's important part as a mentor for LSG and then as the coach who led KKR to victory in the IPL 2024. Karthik praised Gambhir's ability to make decisions and build teams, pointing out that he had made smart player acquisitions and been a good leader. Karthik also said he hoped Gambhir would be the perfect fit for the Indian cricket team, pointing out that Gambhir was passionate about the game and could make it a winning culture. Speaking to Cricbuzz, Dinesh Karthik said: 

What a record he has had as a coach! Being a mentor for LSG, two years on the bounce qualifying, comes to KKR and they say, 'Please, you got to do something special for us'. Ends up winning the trophy. He has been at the helm, taken all the decisions, be it sending Narine opening or getting Mitchell Starc in the auction -- in all of those big recruits and getting the right team, the right balance, and then taking all the shots. I am seeing in the news that he could be part of the Indian team as well, and I really wish he does. He has that fire in him.

I think he has really built a good team, one that will have a lot of players retained and he has left them in a very, very good place. And if he gets the opportunity, I really hope he takes it. Being part of the national team and the patriotism that he has, I think he will definitely be tempted to take it and I really wish he comes in because he will infuse that winning culture he has infused here.

"India would do very well under him because I feel he has that fire that is required. When it comes to KKR, whenever he is back, they will take him back with open arms. But I do believe he has left Shreyas Iyer and the team in a much better place than it was when he took it.

Indian cricket team currently takes on Zimbabwe in 5 5-match T20I series, the 3rd T20I will be played on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The series is tied 1-1 after two games so far.
