Gautam Gambhir wins over Twitter with his 'cake smearing' caption

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, who turned 38 on 14th October, shared a video of his former teammates smearing a cake on his face with an amusing caption.

Former Indian cricketer and current Member of Parliament, Gautam Gambhir celebrated his 38th birthday on Monday with his former teammates VVS Laxman, RP Singh and Irfan Pathan. The former KKR captain was captured cutting a cake that his teammates smeared on his face. Gambhir shared the video on Twitter with a lovely caption. He described himself as a decent batsman in Hindi, while quite amusingly describing the entire incident as "but when 2 superb left-arm swing bowlers are hunting along with a champion slip fielder on a creamy pitch, then one is bound to get plastered!!!"

Gautam Gambhir Twitter: Fans love cake smearing caption

In the video, you can see VVS Laxman, RP Singh, Irfan Pathan and television anchor Jatin Sapru singing Happy Birthday. RP Singh teased Gambhir when Irfan was feeding him the cake by saying that he's still fit and he's just started doing yoga. Sapru added that Gambhir does '100 Suryanamaskar's every day. 'As soon as Gambhir made it live, fans appreciated his sweet caption and flooded his Twitter account with messages.

Gautam Gambhir played 242 international games for India, amassing over 10,000 runs. Gambhir played a crucial role in World Cup wins in 2007 and 2011 for India, scoring half-centuries in both the finals. He retired from all forms of the game in December 2018. He later joined politics and was elected as the Member of Parliament from the East Delhi Constituency.
