The Indian Cricket Team is all set to travel to Australia to face Pat Cummins and his side in the 5-Match Test series, the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Rohit Sharma and his team India have taken a major hit in confidence after their 3-0 Test series drubbing at home to New Zealand.
India will not have it easy against Australia and ahead of the Border Gavaskar Tropy, Rohit Sharma and his troops have been warned of star batter Steve Smith's return to form.
India warned of Steve Smith's form
Star Australian batter Steve Smith's form was under question after Australia experimented him as an opener in Tests to replace David Warner. That experiment did not reap rewards and skipper Pat Cummins confirmed that Smith would return to his no.4 spot.
Ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell has warned the Indian Cricket Team that Steve Smith is back to his best and will be ready to haunt India again in the upcoming Australian summer.
“Steve Smith looks really crisp with his footwork and his timing and his movement looked in sync. He looked like he was unfazed by everything that was thrown at him. To see him over the last week, putting in so many hours in training sort of says why he is one of the best players in the world," said Glenn Maxwell on Steve Smith.
Glenn Maxwell further said that the way Steve Smith is batting will be a scary prospect for opponents in the upcoming Australian Summer.
“He is never satisfied. For the way he came out and bat the way he did, there was a nice moment where he hit a cover drive and you could see him looking at the big screen and give himself the nod of approval and that is a sign of him working on his technique and it is a scary proposition for this summer ahead,” said Glenn Maxwell.
The first Test between India and Australia is scheduled to start on November 22nd, 2024 at WACA stadium in Perth.
