Today, September 17, is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 73rd birthday, and numerous events have been planned across the nation to commemorate the occasion. On September 17, 1950, he was born in Vadnagar, a modest, unremarkable town in the Mehsana district of northern Gujarat.

How is PM Narendra Modi celebrating his 73rd birthday?

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made PM Modi birthday a 'Day of Service' for many years by holding commemorative events and charitable initiatives around the country. To commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the party will hold its annual 'Seva Pakhwada' from September 17 to October 2. Historically, on his own birthday, the Prime Minister has participated in events aimed at strengthening the nation. 

At 11 a.m. today in Dwarka, New Delhi, PM Modi dedicated to the people of India Phase 1 of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), also known as Yashobhoomi. The Prime Minister will also celebrate the opening of the new Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 metro station on the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, which will run from Dwarka Sector 21 to the airport.
