The recently concluded India vs Sri Lanka ODI series has raised serious questions on the Indian Cricket Team's ability to counter spin bowling. India lost the ODI series to Sri Lanka by a margin of 2-0. What has been more shocking is the fact that India were comfortably placed in both the games but they made a mockery of the small totals and ended up losing both the games.
It is understandable that the 'men in blue' returned to the ODI setup after a very long time. Two month long IPL followed by the T20 World Cup might have taken a toll on India's ODI game, but what happened in Sri Lanka has left everybody questioning the Indian team's capability to play spin. When Gautam Gambhir took over as the Head Coach of the Indian Team, he laid emphasis on performance and form. The same sentiment is now being echoed by Gambhir's former India teammate Harbhajan Singh.
Harbhajan Singh's No Nonsense Take On India Selection
Time and again, various Indian selection committees have been accused of choosing reputation over current form. Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh who has over 700 international wickets feels that the selection process of the Indian team should revolve around performance and not reputation.

'Selectors need to see, that if someone is not performing well, they should be dropped. Whether they are senior player or juniors. But as long as everyone is fit, they should be able to get selected in the team and if they are not contributing in any manner, whether its fitness or number of runs, then the time has come. They should be making way for the youngsters.', Harbhajan Singh said while speaking to PTI.

Mission Bangladesh Up Next For Team India
The happenings of the T20 World Cup are now in the past and the Indian Team has embarked on a new journey. The 'Men in Blue' will travel to Australia later this year for a five match Test series. If India choose to participate then they might also play the Champion's Trophy next year and hence they are looking to fine tune their game plans.
After a debacle in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, the Indian Team will now prepare for the two Tests that they are schedule to play against Bangladesh. These two Tests are also a part of the next World Test Championship finals.
